There is an underlying lesson here that I personally realized during my Junior year undergraduate Policy class which is that culture and local relevance are just as important if not the most important parts of mass adoption and sustainability for technologies and innovations.

Billions of unbanked globally and millions of underserved communities are no longer the exception but the norm thanks to ethical leadership and inclusive innovators from all corners of the world adapting existing technologies to their own local needs and reality, rather than importing through a technology transfer mindset of the west.
